Meet Scotty - Sweet, loyal boy...and goofy, too!
Scotty is a very special boy who is in need of a foster or forever home. He is a beautiful Bully mix weighing in at 78 pounds, about 5 years old. Scotty and his sister Sissy were rescued just in time from a Washington State shelter that was going to euthanize both dogs. They had been brought into the shelter after their owner was arrested and then later charged with animal abuse of both dogs. They had been hit, kicked, and emotionally neglected. While Sissy seemed to bounce back quickly from the abuse, it was in Scotty’s nature to be much less trusting of people after all he’d been through. Sid also had some pretty severe skin issues coming out of the shelter that were suspicious of chemical burns as noted in his shelter records—in addition, he spent many weeks in a concrete kennel with the sores being exposed and becoming infected which led to the amputation of his tail after treatments failed to clear up the infection.
Scotty has been staying with very kind and loving people, so he has learned that not all people are bad and that life can be good. He is very smart, sweet, and has showed his goofy personality. He enjoys outdoor time and loves to run. He loves to play fetch with a ball or stick. He is very food motivated, so training is a joy with Scotty! He walks well on a leash and would be a great partner at the beach or the mountains. He needs a home without cats. A home without small children is also preferred as they can be a little scary to him. He would be the most wonderful and loyal BFF for someone seeking companionship. Scotty would love a backyard, but hanging out with you in the house keeps this boy very content. Meeting him is the next step to seeing just how endearing Scotty is!
